Endicott Peabody '42, Harvard's last football All-American, was unopposed for the gubernatorial endorsement, and Attorney General Edward J. McCormack, Jr. won the nod for U.S. Senate over Edward M. Kennedy '54 by a vote of 23 to 0, 13 abstaining.
