Netmen Shut Out Weak Engineers

The varsity tennis team won all 15 matches and 27 out of 29 sets in a thumping victory over M.I.T. yesterday afternoon. Paul Sullivan led the shut-out at the number one position with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Bent Aasnaes.

Vic Niederhoffer, in the number two slot, also won in straight sets, besting Nick Charney 6-4, 6-2. Doug Walter defeated Charles Heinrich 6-4, 6-3, while Frank Ripley, at number four, overpowered Techman Jerry Adams 6-1, 6-1. Keith Martin rounded out the Crimson's top five with a 7-5, 6-1 defeat of Terry Chatwin.

In the doubles matches, Sullivan and Ripley continued Harvard's domination, beating Aasnaes and Heinrich 6-4, 8-6. Niederhoffer and Gary Adelman had more trouble in turning back Charney and Bob Blumberg 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. Walter and Martin, along with Kalman Pollen and Clark Woodbury were also on victorious doubles teams.
