Harvard has been seeded second in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) hockey tournament to be held in two weeks.
Three weeks ago the Faculty Committee on athletics voted to allow the team to play in the ECAC, but dashed hopes for NCAA championship competition.
The varsity will play its first game on March 6 against 7th-seeded Army in Watson Rink. Last December the Crimson trounced the Cadets 5-1, but failed to score until mid-way in the second period. Several top Army icemen were not in the line-up, however.
Should Harvard win (and it should), the second opponent will be the winner of the St. Lawrence-Boston College game, St. Lawrence is seeded fourth.
On the other side of the bracket, top-ranked Clarkson opens against Providence College (8), and Colby (8) plays R.P.I. (6).
