Coach Munro Makes Line Changes As Booters Vie With Penn Today

The Crimson soccer team has a lot at stake in this morning's match against Penn. to be played at 10:30 on the Business School Field. A win would put the Harvard team into strong contention for the Ivy title; a loss and we can forget it. Yale is solidly in first place with an undefeated 3-0 record. The Crimson is 2 and 1, having lost last weekend at Dartmouth.

Having dropped four out of his last five contests, Coach Bruce Munro has decided to pull some switches in the starting lineup. Injured center Chris Ohiri is being moved out to his former position, right-wing, and Cormac O'Malley, a hustling redhead who has been subbing all over the line, will play in the center forward slot. "Chris can use his strong right foot on the wing, and we'll have Cormac to go after the loose balls in front of the goal," Munro reasons.

The most interesting change today is the shift of captain Tony Davies from half to inside right. Munro had been reluctant to move Davies forward for fear of weakening the Crimson defense. Munro's strategy is changing; with the Crimson's poor scoring record, he is going to stack the front line and take the consequences. He tried the same thing once last year: in the final game against Yale, Davies moved in next to Ohiri, and produced two goals. Harvard won 4-2.

Harvard looked good against Dartmouth last week, even in defeat. Right inside John Throndike had several good boots, as did wing Eb Klufio and halfback Emmanuel Boye. Penn will be tough, said the coach, but he's optimistic.
