The Graduate Student Council of Harvard and Radcliffe went on record as favoring the maintaince of "the present separate identity of Harvard College and the Harvard Graduate Schools" in a resolution passed Tuesday night. The Council also approved admitting women to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
According to Armen Sahakian 3G, co-chairman of the admissions and policies committee of the Council, the first resolution implied that the College "should not undertake to serve as a prep school for the graduate schools" or restrict admissions to potential graduate students.
The second statement expressed support for a Faculty resolution favoring the admission of women to the GSAS in the event that the Radcliffe Graduate School ceases to admit students.
