It's Open House At 14 Plympton

Once again, the editors of the Harvard Summer News throw open the double doors of 14 Plympton St. and invite all interested Summer School students to enter in. Free beer, an explanation of the operation of the paper, and a tour of the building are on the agenda for Thursday night, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

All are invited, males and females alike, and we won't be expecting any commitments or promises on your part. The Summer News is published once a week, on presses at the CRIMSON Building, by students in the Summer School. Anyone interested in writing (news and reviews), Photography (We have our own fully equipped darkroom and photoengraver), or the business side of news paper publishing in welcome.

The Summer News is managed by a skeleton crew of editors from the Harvard CRIMSON, the term-time University daily.

During the regular term candidates for the CRIMSON must endure a long and arduous competition to become members of the staff. But in the summer, the infrequency of publication makes it possible for any student in the Summer School to publish his work in the News if he has something to say and can say it well.

The Summer News will take as little of your time as you can afford, after you have finished cleaning out your test tubes in them 20 or looking up the unfamiliar words in Chaucer.

Whether you will have much time on your hands or not, and whether you want to write news, take photographs, draw cartoons, or sell ads, do join us in some mild tippling Thursday night and stick around to get an idea of what involved in the publishing of a newspaper.
