Crimson Lightweights Beat Princeton, Penn

The varsity lightweights cruised to their third victory of the season Saturday at Philadelphia, as Crimson shells swept the Princeton and Penn entries from the river in every event.

Fighting a persistent drizzle and a troublesome headwind, the varsity jumped to an early lead in the feature race and and was far enough ahead going into the turn to keep a few seats on the Tiger shell, overcoming the disadvantage of being in the outside lane around the bend.

Stroking the body of the race at a powerful 32, the Crimson easily kept ahead of the higher stroking Princeton entry, as Penn fell farther and farther back.

The J.V.'s had even less trouble with their competition, rowing to a decisive two length victory over the Tigers, with Penn again straggling in third.

The Freshmen notched their fourth straight win and chalked off another step towards an undefeated season, as they made the Crimson sweep complete.
