The varsity baseball team will play Navy today at Annapolis and Princeton tomorrow in the first two games of the Eastern intercollegiate League season. By the end of the trip coach Norm Shepard should have a pretty good idea of his chances to improve last season's 9-13 record.

The key to the Crimson's success is pitching, and Shepard has his two aces, Al Yarbro and Dick Garibaldi, slated to start the two games.

Yarbro had two victories on the spring training trip, and will go against Navy today. The Midshipmen, paced by halfback-turned-catcher Joe Bellino, are considered a threat for the league pennant and should give Yarbro as strong a test as any club he will have to face this season.

Garibaldi to Face Tigers

Garibaldi, who turned in four impressive innings after a rough start against Tufts this week, will pitch against the Tigers. His big problem at this point seems to be control, and Shepard is hoping for an improvement in the sophomore's ability to find the plate.

The rest of the lineup will remain the same, which means sophomore Jim Mullen at first base, captain Al Martin at second, Billy Rodgers at third, and Dave Morse at shortstop.

Dick Shima, who had two hits and drove in the winning run against Tufts, Charlie Ravenel, and Mike Drummey form one of the smallest outfields around, with an average weight of 153 pounds and an average height of 5 ft., 10 in. Dick Diehl, the catcher, shows signs of becoming the power hitter the Crimson needs so desperately.
