The Crimson fencers yesterday breezed past Trinity, 16 to 11, without even using their top players. Although losing overall in foil and epee, the 8-1 sabre victory gave Harvard the margin of victory and raised the fencers' overall record to seven wins and five losses.

Junior James Pusey--the only regular who fenced sabre--swept all three of his bouts, just as he did against CCNY last week. Second-stringer Paul Winig also shutout his Hilltoppers opponent, while Charlie Staats took two of three bouts.

Bolstered by foilman Larry Johnson, the epee squad won four of nine matches. Johnson came through with three victories, with the only other epee win registered by Phil Bennett. Pete Piazza lost all his bouts.

The foil squad also posted a 4-5 record against Trinity. John Nelson and Jai Yuh both took two of three matches in the only foil wins. Fred Boersma and Red Williams were both shut out by their Trinity opponents.

Saturday's match with Yale in the IAB at 2 p.m. is an important one for the swordsmen. Assured of an overall winning record, the Crimson squad still would like to improve its 1-3 Ivy record and last place Ivy standing. A win over the strong Elis would end the season on a happy note.
