Packard Extends Date For Speaking Contest

Only 20 students have registered for the Boylston Prize Speaking Contest, according to Frederick C. Packard, Jr. '20 associate professor of Public Speaking. In previous years there have been at least twice as many applicants.

Blaming the poor response on inadequate publicity, Packard has extended the registration to 12 noon tomorrow.

Awarded since 1817 for presentation of memorized selections from Greek, Latin, or English Literature, the Boylston Prizes have gone to many famous undergraduates.
