Gov. Nelson A. Rockefeller of New York will deliver next year's Godkin Lectures on Nov. 14, 15, and 16.
The annual lectures, begun in 1903 and administered by the Graduate School of Public Administration, honor the memory of E.L. Godkin, British-American journalist of the 19th century, who founded "The Nation" and edited the New York Evening Post.
Rockefeller will probably speak on the problems of metropolitan areas of cities and states in relation to the Federal government, or on the subject of science and technology and their influence on industrialization, Don K. Price, Dean of the Faculty of Public Administration, said yesterday.
"We did urge Rockefeller to consider discussing the national problems that he had seen developing both as a Federal and a State official." Price explained, "but we are obliged to give the lecturer a good deal of latitude."
In the past, the custom has been to alternate between scholars and public officials in choosing the lecturer. This year C.P. Snow, British scientist and novelist, was the guest speaker.
