The Lampoon is producing its first long-playing rock 'n' roll record. The Poon disc will go on sale shortly after Dec. 1.

The record will feature such 'Poon favorites as "My fall-out filly with the atomic kiss," "The Harvard Coop, boop-boop, boop-boop," and "I'm losing Irv to the Ready Reserve."

Also featured will be "The Penguin," complete with directions for a new dance. Songwriter Christopher B. Cerf '63 said the song has an original rock 'n' roll rhythm and is designed to compete with with such non-'Poon creations as "The Twist."

If "The Penguin" is a success, it may be reproduced as a 45, Cerf said. He mentioned that the Lampoon may attempt publicity of the new step on a Dick Clark type" television show.

"Choir at Leningrad"

The record, which was cut by Professional Sound, Inc., under the 'Poon's Vanitas label, will be titled "The Harvard Lampoon Tabernacle Choir Sings at Leningrad Stadium."

Top billing goes to the 'Poon; Cerf, who wrote, sings, and provides piano accompaniment for most of the numbers; and "Gordie Main and the Main-iacs," a student rock 'a' roll combo.

Margaret A. Gram '64 sings "A Christmas Prayer," a jazz number, and joins Kendra B. Stearns '64 in "I love you too, sweet earthbound teen lover," a combination answer-and-death song. President Jack M. Winter '62 solos in "The Great Namedropper," a baseball song. This Michael K. Frith '63 and Miss Stearns will each do recitations
