Traditional Bike Contest Cancelled

Tale has announced with "greatest disappointment" that the traditional Harvard-Yale bicycle race will not be held this year. But the Yale Spoke and Wheel Society has assured the many fans of stock bike racing that it will do its utmost to revive its rivalry with the Barhandlers next year.

Because the Harvard Yard was not available, the race last year was held on a small plot of land "somewhere near the field house." It was a dismal failure. Two years ago, however, when the rivalry began, a fierce contest was waged for three hours. The estimated 1000 spectators were attracted by the yells and blood-curdling screams of an initially small group of onlookers.
