The University has received a gift of $100,000 to establish an endowment fund in the field of industrial relations and industrial affairs. The fund will honor the late Meyer Kestnbaum '18, a member of the Board of Overseers from 1954 to 1960.

The Meyer Kestnbaum Fund will support the following types of activities:

* To bring to Harvard mature representatives of government, labor, or management to write of their experiences and to participate in seminars throughout the University.

* To hold conferences with policy-making labor leaders; or with labor, business executives, and government representatives on labor-management problems.

* To hold a series of public lectures or debates by representatives of labor, management, or government. These lectures would be known as the Meyer Kestnbaum Memorial Lectures and would be published under a similar title.

The fund is perhaps unique in that it represents a joint gift of a labor union and a company, to honor an industrialist. Contributors to the gift are the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, Hart, Schaffner & Marx, with whom Kestnbaum was associated for 39 years, and the Meyer Kestnbaum Fund which was established to honor his 60th birthday and will form the nucieus of the new memorial.
