Wrestlers Will Face Williams Team Today

The Crimson wrestlers, after a loss in their opening match, travel to western Massachusetts today to meet Williams. Coach Bob Pickett's team began what he calls "a building year" with a 16-11 loss M.I.T. last Thursday.

Clearly Pickett's problem will be in-experience, as the varsity contends with he Ephmen, who are usually strong in wrestling. The only victories in the Tech match were scored by two lettermen and one other experienced grappler. The rest of the team is composed of juniors and sophomores, all of whom had their troubles at M.I.T., and who will have their hands full this afternoon.

The mainstay of the team proved to be, as expected, captain Nick Estabrook. The 137 pound Crimson senior scored the big win of the meet, a 3-0 decision over Jim Evans. Estabrook nearly pinned Evans in handing last year's New England freshman champion his first defeat in three years.

Thus, Pickett and his team have their problems, and Williams offers little chance for the Crimson to get off the ground. Last season things went well for the squad until the third meet, after which the team dropped to an eventual 5-6 record. This year even that early-season success seems doubtful.

Before the varsity meet today, the freshmen will meet the Williams yearlings.
