Kennedy, Lodge To Speak in Hub

Nationwide attention will focus on Boston tonight as Senator John F. Kennedy, Democratic Presidential candidate, and Henry Cabot Lodge, Republican nominee for vice-President, return to their home town to stage final appeals for political support.

Kennedy, who will make the Statler Hilton Hotel his headquarters, is scheduled to arrive at Logan Airport at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m. he will leave his hotel for a giant political rally at Boston Garden. More than 800,000 people are expected to turn out to watch the hour long motorcade.

Following several speeches and night-club acts, Kennedy himself will speak at 10 p.m. He will then leave immediately for Faneull Hall to make a nationwide television appearance.

Lodge's less spectacular shedule calls for a rally and a 10:30 p.m. television broadcast. According to Hugh W. Barber '61, President of Harvard Young Republicans Club, Lodge will speak to HYRC members at 7:45 p.m. in front of the Hotel Somerset, where he is staying.

The vice-Presidential candidate arrived in Beverly, Mass. last night and will spend the day campaigning through northern New England. He will be joined by Senator Leverett Saltonstall and John A. Volpe, Republican candidate for Governor.

Both candidates will vote early Tuesday morning. Lodge then travels to New York and Kennedy to Hyannisport to await the final results of the election.
