Brooklyn, Connecticut, site of the CRIMSON's pre-election poll, re-affirmed its status as a bellwether area last Tuesday, once again voting for the national winner. The hamlet gave President-elect Kennedy 890 votes to vice-President Richard M. Nixon's 754.
Kennedy's 51.1 per cent to 45.9 per cent triumph, however, was neither as close as the CRIMSON poll had indicated nor as close as the national vote. After two days of polling last week, the CRIMSON came up with the following figures:
Nixon 48 per cent
Kennedy 44 per cent
Undecided 11 per cent
Although the Brooklyn figure for Kennedy was about four percentage points higher than the national, it was still on the right side and almost exactly the same as his final percentage in Connecticut.
