Varsity Squash

The varsity squash team continues on its road to the national championship this weekend, as it faces Penn and Dartmouth. The Crimson will play the Quakers today at 3 p.m. on the Hemenway courts, and will travel to Hanover tomorrow for an encounter with the Big Green.

Penn is something of a question-mark. After many years as the doormat of the Ivy League, the Quakers have built shiny new courts and have taken a renewed interest in squash. The results may be surprising.

Last year's imposing Dartmouth lineup was shattered by graduation, which took captain Dick Hoehn and several others. Thus the Crimson is not overly concerned about this season's encounter. The varsity performers will leave at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning for a drive through the country, punctuated by a squash match at 2 p.m.

Captain Gerry Emmet will play at number one, followed as usual by Tim Gallwey, Romer Holleran, Fred Vinton, Tony Lake, Jorge Lemann, Pete Smith, Doug Poole, and Denny Briggs.
