Farnsworth Promotes Polio Immunization

All persons in the University are "urgently" recommended to complete a series of polio vaccinations this year. Dr. Dana L. Farnsworth, director of the University Health Services, yesterday urged all students, Faculty members, and employees less than 40 years old to receive the four-injection series.

The vaccine will be administered every Monday and Tuesday afternoon, 2-3 p.m., at 15 Holyoke St., for students and Faculty members. Employees may receive innoculations from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily at the Employees Clinic. Each injection costs $1.

Dr. Farnsworth recomended a waiting period of four to six weeks between the first two innoculations, and a third injection, six months to a year later, and the final innoculation a year after the third. He emphasized that a complete series is necessary for full protection.
