A very sharp Northeastern rifle team outshot Harvard last Friday night, 1422 to 1396. Dick Murphy, high scorer for Harvard with 283 points out of a possible 300, considered Northeastern "the best team in New England." Murphy is now tied with Robert Cambell of Northeastern for the Greater Boston Rifle League championship title. Ron Simon as well as Will Garrison, John North and John Phelps scored for Harvard. The team now has a 6-4 record with the Greater Boston Rifle League Championships on April 18 and 19. Simon commented that "Harvard will have a very good chance, since this will be a handicap competition." The freshman team also fell before a strong shooting Northeastern team, 1376 to 1229.
