Discontent against Hayes-Bickford's new 15 cent minmum led last night to a melee that took 15 policemen and numerous firemen to quell. Three students who identified themselves as "bards" refused to pay the charge and set up a table on the sidewalk.
The "riot" was culminated when someone turned in a false fire alarm, which brought five pieces of fire equipment to the scene. One of the Cambridge policemen said, "It was obviously a Harvard student who turned in the alarm to get back at the Bick for levying the minimum."
