AMA Gives $60,000 To Medical School

The Medical School has received an unrestricted grant of almost $60,000 from the American Medical Association, Herbert A. Shaw, Director of Medical Information in the University News Office, announced yesterday.

This award is part of an annual program, directed by the AMA, to improve medical colleges across the nation. In past years, the Medical School has used the grant mainly to strengthen faculty salaries, Shaw reported.

Gifts from industrial firms through the National Fund for Medical Education make up $45,720 of the award.
