Third place was the highest position the Crimson track team was able to attain at Saturday night's B.A.A. Games, but the squad produced five such finishes in a generally impressive show of strength and improvement.

The varsity two-mile relay unit opened the meet by taking third behind Brown and Cornell. Well-run legs by Jed Fitzgerald and Willie Thompson put the Crimson in second place, but number three man Fred Howard went out after the leader too fast, and was passed by the Cornell runner.

Finishing third in the Ryder 440, the Crimson's Larry Repsher demonstrated excellent speed but a small knowledge of indoor racing tactics. Boxed in for most of the race, Repsher went to the outside with 100 yards remaining, passing one man but failing to reach the leaders.

Joel Landau took third in the Hillman Hurdles, his best finish this season against national oppsition. Landau outdistanced three fine hurdlers, including Keith Gardner of Nebraska, in the final.

The Yardling mile relay squad ran a tremendous race and might have won if Gerry Webb, the second Crimson runner, had not fallen and lost ground, forcing the Freshmen to settle for another third.
