Even the fish have deserted Yale.
At this fall's intercollegiate game fish seminar in Wedgeport, Nova Scotia, a Crimson fishing team caught six pounds more of blue-fin tuna than the Eli anglers, who placed last in their own invitation tournament.
The Harvard Salt Water Club has participated in these matches for two years, according to Richard Haedrich '61, a founder of the group. Staged several times annually, the seminars present lectures on the economic and scientific aspects of game fishing, and test the skill of the Ivy League fisher folk.
The Crimson salts have just launched a campaign to attract kindred spirits to their organization. Notable among its present subscribers are its adviser, Sargent Kennedy '28, Registrar, who is "an avid angler," and Charles Taylor, Master of Kirkland House, who takes a "casual" interest in the sport.
