The Harvard Motor Sports Club scored two separate wins last weekend to make it a serious threat in next Sunday's big fall meet, the "Triangle Terror Rally."
John Stotler and Eugene Lipkowitz drove a Corvette to victory in the Fall Rally of the Babson Institute Sports Car Club. The contest was run over more than 90 miles of backwoods roads where the majority of the entries got lost.
In a gymkhana sponsored by the MIT Sports Car Club, Phil Bradley took the touring class in his Fiat 1100, and Grey Jones placed a close second in the small sports class with his MGA 1600. His time was the second fastest of the day.
The club expects as many as 50 participants in this Sunday's meet, which it sponsors annually for all the sports car clubs in this part of the state. One member pointed out that although it won last year's meet, no one who placed then is still in the running this year. The fall meet last year attracted 55 participants.
