The Ivy football title is at stake this Thursday as Cornell and Pennsylvania meet in the climax to one of the most exciting and surprising seasons since the League started in 1956.

Now in first place by one-half game, the Quakers must win the traditional Thanksgiving Day finale in order to cop its first League title. A loss for Penn (5-1) would mean that Dartmouth (5-1-1) would become the first Ivy team to win the title twice.

The defending champion Indians opened their season poorly but have won four straight after their 9-0 win over the Crimson eleven Oct. 24. Dartmouth stayed in the running with a 12-7 triumph over Princeton Saturday on an 11-yard touchdown pass from captain Bill Gundy with 56 seconds left in the game.

Although two weeks ago the Crimson was hoping for a Cornell upset this Thursday, happenings in the interim make a Penn win more advantageous for the varsity. If Cornell wins, the Crimson must share third place with not only Yale but also the Big Red. If Penn wins, the Crimson can claim to be the only team to be able to beat the Quakers, and for the second straight year will be the only League team to defeat the Ivy champion.
