Adams Elects Council Members; Three Masters Make Selections

More Appointments Today

Adams House yesterday elected two representatives to the Student Council. Newly appointed members of the Council have also been announced by their House Masters.

Edward B. Segel'60, of Everett, won the Adams election for Junior Class representative. Lewis B. Oliver Jr. '61, of New York City, was reelected to represent the Sophomore Class.

Reuben A. Brower, Master of Adams House appointed Roy A. Gosse '60 of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to the Council. Gordon M. Fair Master of Dunster House, has appointed Daniel A. Pollack'60, of New York City, and John H. Finley, Master of Eliot House, chose James D. Lorenz Jr.'60 of Dayton, Ohio.

This is the first time that House Masters have appointed members of the Student Council. The new procedure was promulgated in a Council report last spring, and is intended to recruit new members with "popularly unrecognized talent." Each appointment is subject to ratification by the House Committee.

The other House Masters are expected to make their appointments known today.
