Thirteen members of the Faculty and research staff have been awarded Guggenheim Fellowships for 1958, Henry A. Moe, Secretary-General of the Foundation, announced yesterday.
Those receiving grants for independent research are Eric G. Ball, professor of Biological Chemistry; Lyman H. Butterfield '30, lecturer on History; Edward H. Chamberlin, David A. Wells Professor of Political Economy; David Gitlin, assistant professor of Pediatrics; James M. Henderson, assistant professor of Economics; and Georg H.B. Luck, instructor in Classics.
Also Ernest R. May, assistant professor of History; David C. McClelland, professor of Psychology; John R. Meyer '51, assistant professor of Economics; Miss Pauline A. Miller, research associate in Bacteriology; Reginald H. Phelps '30, associate dean of the School of Arts and Sciences; Isreal Scheffler, lecturer on Education; and Amos N. Wilder, Hollis Professor of Divinity, were recipients of the award.
