Incumbent Governor George Docking became the first Democrat ever to win re-election in Kanses, beating news-paper publisher Clyde Reed, Jr.

Republicans kept the Senate seat but lost the Governorship as incumbent Beall and Democrat Dawes won.
Minnesota
Voters in Minnesota elected Democratic Senatorial candidate Eugene McCarthy to replace Republican Incumbent Edward Thye.
New Jersey
Democratic senatorial candidate Harrison A. Williams defeated his Republican opponent Robert W. Keane in a race for the seat vacated by former Republican Senator H. Alexander Smith.
