Cambridge police may begin confiscating unregistered bicycles, Chief Daniel J. Brennan warned yesterday. Operators of unregistered cycles are also subject to "possible recommended disciplinary action by the College," he said.
Students may register their bikes at the firehouse near Memorial Hall, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Brennan stated that motorscooter owners are required to have a valid driver's license with a valid motorcycle operator's stamp. Motorscooters parked on sidewalks will be ticketed, the chief noted, "and their operators brought into court."
On the subject of traffic regulations, Brennan warned students not to "weave, zig-zag, or cut across in moving traffic," and said that bikes must be parked "in permissable parking areas and not on public sidewalks."
