Yardling Sextet Bows To Jumbo Squad, 3-2; Outshoots Rivals, 23-5

The Tufts freshman hockey team gained a 3-2 victory over the Yardlings yesterday at Watson Rink, even though the Crimson made 23 shots against five by Tufts.

The Jumbos opened the scoring with a goal early in the first period, but Yardling Crocker Snow came back unassisted to tie the game at 14:40.

Tufts' Carver made the first of his two goals at 0:43 of the second period to put the visitors in the lead again. Bill Gallagher of the Crimson tied the score at 6:15 with an assist from Eliot Putnam, but at 5:24 of the last period Carver netted the winning goal, assisted by Anghinetti and Cussen.

The Crimson's sloppy play, a definite comedown from its pre-vacation standards, was almost matched by that of the Jumbos, but not closely enough to prevent the Yardlings' first loss of the year.

Previously they had had a 2-0 record.
