Yard Swimmers Meet Huntington

The Yardling swimmers take on Huntington School at 3 this afternoon in the I.A.B. pool for their second meet this winter. Coach William Brooks said he lacked definite information about the Huntington swimmers, but expected them "to be strong in distance and medley swims."

Unfortunately for the squad, the meet is unusually early this year. The swimmers did not practice during the vacation and may not be in top condition after only two days' practice. Recent illnesses among team members may be another source of weakness.

In their first meet Dec. 16, the Crimson freshmen easily defeated their traditional rival, Waltham Boys' Club, 57-29. Bruce Hunter set a record of 23.2 seconds for the 50-yard freestyle.

Coach Brooks declined to predict the outcome of the Huntington meet, but expressed hope for his swimmers. He said that the names of the swimmers for each event will be chosen just before the match from a squad of about 20 men.
