BOSTON, Jan. 23--Boston's high-scoring Uke Line--Bronco Horvath, Johnny Bucyk and Vic Stasiuk--clicked off three goals tonight as the Bruins defeated the Chicago Black Hawks, 4-3, in their National Hockey League clash at the Garden.
Bucyk collected a goal and two assists, while Horvath and Stasiuk contributed a goal and an assist.
Their efforts enabled the Bruins to post their first home victory since Christmas night despite a stirring 43-save performance by Black Hawk goalie Glenn Hall.
The Ukes, who have scored 50 of the team's 120 goals this season, tallied at 14:38 of the opening period when Horvath stroked in a rebound from a Hall stop for his 19th of the season.
Bucyk made the score 2-1 early in the second period when Johnny, speeding across the Chicago blue line ahead on the pack, took a perfect Stasiuk pass and beat Hall on a 25-foot low angle shot into the far corner.
When Chicago closed the gap 3-2 before the middle session ended, Stasiuk made sure on a slick pass from Bucyk who had carried the puck into the Hawk zone and flipped a shot high into the net over Hall's shoulder.
Dutch Reibel's goal at 17:13 of the finale completed the scoring for Chicago.
