Stage
Caine Mutiny Court Martial opened last night at Sanders, presented by the Dudley House Dramatic Society. Performances Friday and Saturday evenings for $1 and $1.50. Agassiz Theatre will again hold the Gilbert and Sullivan Players' production of Patience. A very enjoyable show, seats cost $1.20 and $1.80. The HDC Workshop will present a reading of Thomas Middleton's The Changeling Sunday afternoon at three in PBH.
Across the river and in the Plymouth theatre, A Hatful of Rain is worth going to, while New Girl in Town at the Shubert is missable.
Music
The best time in town is to be had at Symphony Hall with Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops. The champagne pops on the lowest level, but the music and seats for $.50 are in the second balcony. Seats for the Friday and Saturday shows are scarce, but buy now for later. On this side of the Charles, the Bach Society Orchestra will give a concert Sunday evening at 8:15. For $.75 in Paine Hall. Friday at 8:30 p.m. there will be a Piston Seminar also in Paine Hall. David Gross will give a piano recital Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in Leverett House. Free.
Movies
Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman is still marvelous, at the Brattle. The Light Brigade arrives Sunday. Lust for Life lives up to its title at the UT. Through Saturday. In Town, The Bachelor Party is realism, if you like that sort of stuff. At the Kenmore, shows at 6:24 p.m., 8:12 p.m., and 10 p.m. Around the World in 80 Days is Michael Todd's. The seats are reserved and the Saxon's.
Sports
The varsity crew goes up the Charles Saturday at 6 p.m. Princeton, BU, MIT, and Dartmouth along for the ride, hopefully. The Harvard-Wellesley bike race gets rolling from outside Soldier's Field, Saturday afternoon at 2:30.
