Occasional defensive errors marred otherwise good play by the Crimson varsity lacrosse team as it suffered defeat at the hands of Williams yesterday afternoon, 9 to 6.

The Crimson trailed by one goal at the half, but tied it up early in the third period. But then Williams hit holes in the defense to pick up four goals in the third.

Mike Shaw led Crimson scoring with three goals, followed by captain Mac Hyde with two. Tim Draper made the other Harvard tally. Hyde, Jim Gale, and Dub Mallonee registered assists.

The Crimson's defenses have suffered in the past few games from a lack of reserve power and some injuries. Bob Fallon has been filling in ably on defense for Tom Crump, who was injured in the Princeton game. The rest of the starting defense, which had to play the whole Dartmouth game without substitution, is John Baldwin and Jim Herscot.

The Crimson ten finishes its season against Yale Saturday afternoon at Soldeiers Field.

The Yardling lacrosse team picked up its fifth victory of the season yesterday afternoon as it rolled over a powerless Tufts freshman tean, 13 to 1.

Nick Lamont led the Crimson scoring, picking up four goals and one assist. Captain Phil Hunder followed, with three goals and six assists. Bob Dakin and John Righter got one tally and one assist each and Dave Sweet, John Gould, Dave Thompson, and Tom Plaut each scored once.

Dain Trafton kept the Yardling defense tight, as he did an excellent job of clearing the ball. Tom Day had a very good afternoon in the goal, allowing the only Tufts goal in the second period.

The Yardlings play their final game of the season against Yale Saturday at Soldiers Field.
