A group of University students, interested in fostering the visual arts in the community, is gathering material for a student art magazine.
The first issue is expected to appear late this spring, according to the project's innovators, Eric Martin '58 and Richard D. Baker '58. Both are architectural science majors.
Undergraduates and graduate students at the University and at Radcliffe have been invited to submit material for the first issue before next Monday's deadline. "We will consider anything from a doodle on a note-pad to a mile-high oil triptych," Martin said.
The innovators plan to finance their project primarily through advertising in the magazine, but they are also seeking sponsorship contributions from individuals.
By its publication, the group hopes to make the University aware that there are enough interested students to warrant augmenting the facilities for art work, specifically by building the proposed visual arts center.
