President Pusey announced yesterday the establishment of the Edward Mallinckrodt Jr. Professorship of Divinity in Harvard University.
The new professorship honors the St. Louis industrialist who played an important part in the re-building of the Harvard Divinity School as a center of religious learning.
Mallinckrodt, a member of the class of '00, who received his M.A. in 1901, has taken an interest in the University throughout his career. He served on the Board of Overseers, and on committees to visit the chemistry department and the geology department, and was Vice President of the Harvard Alumni Association.
