Students at the Law School will begin receiving Asian Flu vaccinations this morning, according to Dr. Leo J. Cass, Director of the Law School Health Service. The other faculties will begin innoculations next week, and vaccine should be available for undergraduates later in the week.
Cass explained that the Law School Health Service has 120 cc. of vaccine available, enough for about 750 shots, and will begin their innoculations today so that syringe and needle equipment will be available next week for the other Health Services.
The vaccine will be dispensed at the Law School Health Center, from 9 to 11 a.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
More Vaccine Expected Soon
Dr. Dana L. Farnsworth, Director of University Health Services, indicated last night that "a large batch" of vaccine will be received some time next week. He said that "there will be enough vaccine, but we anticipate a bottleneck in trying to find enough space to dispense it."
Farnsworth also denied reports in the Boston Daily Record that five cases at the University had been definitely identified as Asian Flu. He said that Medical School tests have shown all cases so far to be of a different "type A" variety.
