Ruddigore of Gilbert and Sullivan vintage will play at Agassize Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:30 p.m. Also a matinee performance Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $1.00 and $1.50.

Shangri-La opened last night at the Shubert. The new musical is based upon the novel "Lost Horizon." Boston reviewers gave pleasant reviews, the CRIMSON will pan it next week. Shows at 8:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Devil's Disciple at the Fine Arts Theatre was described by our reviewer as "good fun," Shavian, of course. Shows at 8:40 p.m. and a Saturday matinee at 2:30 p.m.

Boston Pops uncorks at Symphony Hall. Arthur Fiedler and the boys still provide the best evening's entertainment to be found. Shows Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings at 8:30 p.m. Table seats for $2.50 for those who enjoy good company. Fifty-cent seats for those who enjoy music.

Bach Society gives a performance Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m. of works by Bach, Mozart, and Haydn. At Paine Hall.

Harvard Band toots off at 2:30 p.m. Sunday from the steps of Widener for a Yard Concert. When the music isn't good, the noise is.

A guitar plunks pleasantly at the Capriccio during the wee, mysterious hours. Oodles of atmosphere. Dress informal but beards preferred.

MOVIES

The Werewolf of London strikes at 11:30 p.m. Friday at the Brattle. The audiences are more horrible than the shows, but both are great fun.

Citizen Kane, Orson Welles' masterpiece, has returned to the Brattle. Should not be missed at 5:30, 7:30, 9:30.

Godzilla is billed as the biggest monster yet. It is, Stalking at the Paramount (3:35, 6:35, 9:35 and the Fenway (3:50, 6:45, 9:30).

Meet Me in Las Vegas is colorful, musical, and has Cyd Charisse's legs. At the State (2:30, 4:55, 7:20, 9:45) and Orpheum (2:50, 5:10, 7:35, 10.00).

Manon just opened at the Beacon Hill. Shows from two to ten at even number intervals. French with subtitles.
