More Students Plan On European Travel

More students than ever will spend the summer in Europe this year, a survey of travel agents around the Square and in Boston showed yesterday.

Although England and France still retain first place in popularity for potential European travellers, the recent trend has been toward visiting great numbers of countries, and away from planned group tours, eight of the ten agencies contacted reported.

Rome and Salzburg have become two of the most popular tourist attractions in Europe, according to booking figures. Switzerland and Italy remain important stops on most itineraries, while Spain and the Scandinavian countries, now readily accessible by air, are also attracting more tourists.

Because of the great demand for transportation, most steamship lines and airlines have been booked solidly for the months of June and early July.
