Robert C. Milton, '56 of Winthrop House and Worcester has been awarded the Lionel de Jersey Harvard Studentship for 1956-57. He will spend next year as Harvard Scholar at Emmanuel College in Cambridge, England.
The studentship was established in 1942 by the Associated Harvard Clubs in memory of a graduate who was killed in World War I. A collateral descendent of John Harvard, de Jersey was killed in action while serving with British troops at Arras in 1917.
James W. Jacobs '56 of Winthrop House and Birmingham, Alabama has been awarded the James Bryant Conant--Class of 1928 Scholarship for study in Germany in 1956-57.
The scholarship was established in 1953 by the class of '28 to honor President Conant when he resigned to become High Commissioner for Germany. It is being awarded alternately to Harvard and to German students.
