John C. Connor, former All-American diver at Duke University, will coach varsity and freshman diving here next year, varsity swimming coach Harold S. Ulen announced yesterday.
In his sophomore, junior, and senior years at Duke, Connor was both high and low board champion of the Southern Conference, going undefeated. He is a five-time South Atlantic A.A.U. diving champion, and in addition to his All-American rating, he holds a European Championship and won the Easterns in this country.
Former All-American
Connor coached Bermuda's diving team in 1951, having previously been a member of two visiting All-American teams to the island, where he took its Mid-Ocean Championship.
The new Crimson coach was also Southern Conference pole vault champion at Duke. He comes to Cambridge after having completed a tour of duty as a jet pilot with the Air Force in Europe.
