In one of its most important matches of the year, the varsity tennis team, once again at full strength will oppose a traditionally powerful North Carolina squad this afternoon on the Soldiers Field Courts.
In its last encounter with the southerners, the Crimson dropped two close matches, 7 to 6 and 9 to 6. However, today there will be only six singles and three doubles, which should tighten up the match even further.
The varsity will have Dale Junta at first singles with Captain Brooks Harris at second. On the southern tour Junta won both of his matches at first and second singles, and Harris won at second singles and lost at first. Following the two top players will be Ham Gravem.
At fourth singles will be Ben Heckscher who moved up via the challenge match route. He is followed at fifth and sixth positions by Steve Gottlieb and Maynard Canfield respectively.
In the doubles, Junta and Harris will team at one, Gravem and Connie Fisher at two, and Heckscher and Cal Place at three.
