Freshman Sports

Byron Johnson pitched the freshman baseball team to a 7-0 shut-out victory over Northeastern Wednesday in Brook-line.

Johnson struck out 11, allowed only three hits and a single walk as the Yardlings scored their second consecutive shut-out. The score, however, does not indicate the light hitting by the freshmen, who got only four singles. Five of the Crimson's runs came on fielding lapses in the last half of the game and the other two came from a combination of singles and walks early in the game.

Deerfield Academy rolled over the Yardling lacrosse team yesterday on the B-School field with a crushing 20-1 victory. George Allen led the visitors' attack with seven goals, while Dave Rintels made the lone score for the Crimson. Dick Eldridge received credit for the Crimson's only assist.

The game proved still more disasterous when Dick Pille suffered a dislocated shoulder and Paul Keaney sprained his ankle.
