Paced by Jean Beliveau and Maurice Richard, the Montreal Canadians last night regained possession of the Stanley Cup in the National Hockey League Playoffs, defeating the defending Detroit Red Wings, 3 to 1. The victory gave the Canadians the final series, 4 games to 1. Outstanding for the Montreal sextet, which last won the National League Cup in 1953, was goalie Jacques Plante.
