Forward Bill Parmley led Winthrop to a 48-46 victory over Leverett last night and assured the Puritans of first place in the "A" league of the inter-House basketball competition.
Winthrop, with 12 wins and only one defeat, is followed by Adams with an 8-6 and Dunster with a 7-5 record. The Funsters, however, can still finish in second place by winning their two remaining games.
In hockey, the first-place tie of Kirkland and Leverett is threatened by Dunster in second. The Deacons and the Bunnies have a 6-2-1 record over the Funsters' 5-3-1.
