The varsity squash team won its seventh straight match of the year and its fifth by a 9-0 margin against Trinity College yesterday. Although Trinity had an excellent small college team, Coach Jack Barnaby said that the Crimson's overall depth was too much for them.
The varsity was strong at the top three positions as usual with Ben Heckscher, Cal Place, and Pete Milton winning easily. However, Barnaby was pleased mainly by the bottom three players, who moved up from the second team to replace varsity men who couldn't make the trip. John Davis, Frank Bacon, and Hank Holmes all came through with convincing victories.
Also performing well at Trinity was Lee Folger, who took a quick 3-0 match in the fourth slot. Barnaby said that Folger has "made the greatest improvement of any Harvard player this year." Roger Cortesi and Lanny Thomas won the remaining matches at fifth and sixth singles.
