The Grant Foundation has given Phillips Brooks House $3000 for an urgently needed station wagon. The gift from the Grant stores came in response to an appeal by PBH to eleven different foundations.
The car, although originally planned for exclusive use by the Mental Hospitals Committee, will be at the disposal of all divisions of Brooks House. It will be used to drive volunteers to the mental hospitals, to transport tutors to the prisons, and will help in fund-raising campaigns.
PBH plans to charge each passenger fifteen cents and use this money to keep up the maintenance of the car. The station wagon is on order and is expected within the month.
