Wrestlers Defeat Winless Quakers By One Pin, 16-12

The varsity wrestlers downed a weak Pennsylvania team 16 to 12 Philadelphia Saturday.

Though unsuccessful in the middle weights, the Crimson managed to group two lightweight victories, a forfeit, and a fall in the unlimited class for the victory.

The victory over Penn was not surprising as the Quakers have the weakest team in the Ivy League, with only a single victory in their last 28 contests.

Tatsuo Arima won by decision in the 123-pound class over Dick Nathan; John Winthrop at 130 over Don Mossman; and Pete Hiam at 137 by forfeit.

The Quakers retaliated by taking the next four weights by decision. Ken Fisher topped Captain Phil Burnaman; Steve Friedberg over Dick Hook; Jay Goldberg over Bob Gilmor; and Ted Robb over Ed Raymond.

Pete Morrison pinned Vince Dioguardi in the unlimited class to give the varsity the victory.

The victory raises the Crimson above the .500 mark to a 3 and 2 record.
