The freshman hockey team, their eyes on the impressive 20 and 1 records compiled by their 1954 and 1955 predecessors, open their season against Arlington High School this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. on Watson Rink.
Coach Nat Harris says the Yardlings have "a fairly decent team, though probably not as good as last year's." He predicts a "rough, hard game, since Arlington has always been one of the better teams in the Greater Boston League."
The freshman sextet will start with Bruce Gillie at left wing, Mike Graney at center, and Ken Woodworth at right wing. Harold Morgan and Elmer Walls will open at defense, and John Page will be goalie.
Harris, who took over the freshman coaching duties this year, played wing on the Crimson varsity squad in 1951-52, scoring eight goals and making three assists.
